Devices
In this step, I looked at what devices we use in our daily lives, what readings they can potentially provide and/or what they can do for us.
Computer
- whether you work and what you do
- where you are (for notebooks)
- pending appointments
Smartphone
- what you do (sitting, sports, driving, …)
- where you are
- pending appointments
- background noise
- if you are looking at it (depending on the sensors)
Tablet
- what you do (sitting, sports, driving, …)
- where you are
- pending appointments
- background noise
- if you are looking at it (depending on the sensors)
Smart Watch
- what you do (sitting, sports, driving, …)
- where you are
- pending appointments
- Heart rate (possibly an indication of current stress?)
Google Glass (or similar devices with forward-facing camera)
- what you do (sitting, sports, driving, …)
- where you are
- pending appointments
- recognize by camera what the user is currently focusing on
Smart Home Devices
- Smart lamps – lighting mood
- Smart speakers – start or pause music
- Smart thermostats – temperature control (e.g. lower in concentration phases)
- Smart sunshades – to avoid glare and/or reflections on the screen
- Motion detectors – to activate or deactivate certain scenarios if movement is detected or if no movement is detected long enough
AR/VR Glasses
- what you do
- I would say currently rather irrelevant for Attention Management
